New Delhi: Olympic qualifying athletics occasions — Indian Grand Prix 4 and Nationwide Inter State Championships — scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from 15-25 June are more likely to be moved to a different metropolis resulting from logistical points attributable to COVID-19 and unavailability of monitor.

The monitor on the Kanteerava stadium in Bangalore is unlikely to be prepared in view of the pandemic and it isn’t advisable for athletes on the NIS Patiala to go to the Karnataka capital for the 2 completions.

“AFI is engaged on to shift the venue of IGP-4 & Inter-State Championships in June from #Bengaluru to different venue,” the Athletics Federation of India stated in a tweet.

“Patiala is being thought of,” it added.

Apart from the monitor not being prepared, the AFI thought it not be possible to inform the athletes to journey to Bangalore from Patiala in view of the COVID-19 state of affairs within the metropolis.
